Hello! I took this picture during my trip to a small town in Rajasthan. This was just a few days after the festival of Holi, thats why the walls can be seen covered in colour. The architectural design see here is very typical of the region, with a courtyard preceding the main house.
Hello Olivia!
Оценка работы
This is an interesting work – you’ve chosen a vibrant, unusual subject. The perspective is well chosen, you’ve managed to emphasise the symmetry of the arch, which creates a frame for the view in the daylight. The left side of the photo counters the right, and the composition is nicely balanced.
Замечания и рекомендации
I would advise you to change the settings slightly.
Firstly, the aperture value should be approximately f8-f11, because focussing on the background leaves the arch blurred, so the depth of field needs to be increased.
If possible, don’t set the ISO too high, unless this is strictly necessary.
Shooting by hand at a focal length of 20, a shutter speed of 1/30-1/40 would be sufficient.
But if there really isn’t enough light, landscapes and stationary subjects can be shot using a tripod, with a minimal ISO and long exposure even up to several seconds.
