This is a self-portrait. I took this photo using remote shooting using my phone as a remote. Overall I'm quite pleased of the result because the background is blurred just right and the light direction is captured neatly
Hello, Adriana! Thank you for the photo!

In terms of shooting self-portraits, you’re moving in the right direction.
You’ve mounted the camera on a tripod. You’ve selected a large focal distance and avoided any distortion in the close-up.
Thanks to the narrow depth of field, the background is blurred and does not draw our attention. The focus is directly on the eyes – excellent!
You’ve put picture together in a well-balanced way, without arranging everything around the centre.

But you haven’t quite got the white balance right. There is a lot of red coming through in the skin tone. Try setting the white balance with a white sheet of paper. In most cases, this method will give the most natural results. To do this you need to take a photo, and then select ‘Manual WB’ in the camera menu and for your calibration shot pick the photo of the white sheet of paper.
Overhead lighting is not the best choice for portrait photography. It creates some not very attractive shadows under the eyes and nose.
A great choice for portraits is to use front and side lights, positioned slightly above eye-level. To get this kind of light you can shoot in the afternoon by a window. I promise that the results will be even more pleasing.

I’ll accept your work.
Hi! Thank you for your comments and tips! There is light coming from a window to the left but I think it might have been too low because it gives to a back yard. Will keep in mind the White Balance and light tips. Thanks
