Homework called for a cozy place in your home and this is my little get away island. The late afternoon sun was just low enough to perfectly shine through the window and drop interesting shadows on the succulents. Perhaps I could have had the whole patch in focus, but i wasn't quite sure how to achieve that in Aperture priority mode that i shot in.

This is a great reworking. It shows off your modest garden beautifully. The underlighting is very effective, adding a certain atmosphere, a mood.
The chosen aperture and focal length have enabled you to give the shot a particular accent, also giving you a light blurring. There is no problematic noise as the ISO value is within the permissible range.

In order to achieve a greater depth of field you could have used a wider angle. Remember the aperture value is not the only thing that impacts on depth of field, so does the the focal distance – the distance from the object.
And you could have stepped back a little, to add a little more space. This never does any harm.
To avoid light spots, you need to try and use softer light. This is the sort of light you get just before dawn. It’s very evocative.
