I took this photo of my friend and her family in the sunset and am really pleased with the results. I love how the sun makes her hair really golden and creates a certain ambience and warmth around the family. I used AV portrait mode with F stop set at 1.8 and ISO 100.

Kay! Hello!

Оценка работы

A beautiful view. Vibrantlighting. Wonderfully rich colouring. The concept isclear. You have takenthe photograph in aperture priority mode, with a directfocus on the model, successfully marking her out from the unfocused background. This adds to the volume of the whole scene, along with the chosen light settings. As far as the exposure goes, everything has come out fine and it’s good to see you using exposure compensation.
The shapes are well described
and realistic. Although, you could have used more space to the left so that you could fit the full figure of the woman in. Also, use flash or a reflector from behind the camera in order to soften the shadows – the woman has come out rather dark, and all the attention is focused on a well lit portion of her hair.

Замечания и рекомендации

The sky is over-exposed. This flattens the picture. You therefore need to select the right kind of lighting so that the sky is not so bright.
As a rule, photographers avoid brightlight for the following reasons:
- In brightly lit places you lose the details. And you can’t bring these back even with a photo editor. The shot loses its quality. It’s a technical flaw.
- Aesthetically the shot looks worse. It becomes flatter, the bright patches rub out those parts of the picture like an eraser. This adds nothing to the artistic composition of the photograph.
- As the brightest areas of the picture, such spotsobstruct the viewer’s intended centre of attention. The viewer will always direct their attention subconsciously to the brightest parts of a picture.

1. Over-exposure of the photograph, with flare. Details are lost. To bring them back is extremely difficult if not impossible.
2. Under-exposure of the photograph. The shot is heavy. But using a photo editor it is possible to draw out the details, albeit raising the level of noise, decreasing the quality and level of detail as with a high ISO value.
3. Photograph with correct
exposure.

Выводы

This is a very beautiful, natural shot. Wonderfulemotion. But it would be good to show this sort of scene without any flare and compensate for the shadow with the aid of flash or reflectors. This would make the image more natural and compelling.
